Raksha bandhan in Indian culture is the basis of an unbreakable bond of trust and confidence. A Sister Tie Rakhi on her brother's wrist is not only to protect him (Because it is believed that Sister's Rakhi Protects her Brother) but also to show her love towards him and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her.
It is also believed that when the world begins to decline in moral values, then the Supreme Lord through Creator Lord Brahma send sacred threads on the earth, who are tied by the Sisters on brother's wrist, and Lord Shiva, keep them away from negative thoughts.

Rakhi festival is observed in different regions of the country, in different ways according to the local traditions. In many marine areas of Mumbai it is Popular as coconut full moon On this Sacred day, the sea god is worshiped by offering coconuts.
